THE STRESS & CHRISTIAN MEDITATION COURSE
The Stress & Christian Meditation course has been developed over a number of years.
Stress is our daily companion. We all need a push to get out of bed in the morning and stress helps us to do so. But in today’s society it is easy to get overstressed and this can trigger mental and physical health problems.
Meditation has been acknowledged as a way to help alleviate stress.
Meditation by its very nature has flexibility built into it, and so LD can offer a number of different possibilities.
The standard course is 4 sessions spread over 4 weeks.
We also offer a taster session; a day long event and a whole weekend retreat.
For meditation to be beneficial changes in the life-style have to be made – SCM helps you make those changes
OTHER POSSIBILITIES
The principles of Lectio Divina and Ignatian meditation lend themselves to be adapted and so we can offer courses for those who find the work place stressful. (see The WorkPlace page)
Courses for people who wish to look at the arts in a different way.
Also available are one to one sessions for those want to go further.
It is also possible to look at other forms of Christian meditation like the ‘Jesus Prayer’ and ‘mumbling’ or the repetitive reading of a particular passage from a poem or the bible.
To attend any of the sessions you do not need to adhere to religious beliefs. Meditation is for everyone.
